Volunteering your time and talents is a dynamic way to help others and show your support for the Mission of Sertoma Star Services.

It doesn’t matter if you can volunteer weekly or once a year – you can make a difference. Volunteering at Sertoma Star Services can change your life and the lives of the people we serve.

Program Volunteers


Work directly with the amazing individuals we serve in our Day and Residential Programs. Share a talent like photography or painting; teach classes like crafts or computers, or just visit and make a friend.

Event Support


Events are great for individuals and groups. Companies, service clubs, schools, and other organizations are invited to partner with Sertoma Star Services for both one-time opportunities and ongoing projects.

Administration Help


Onsite: Available at our locations in Alsip, Chicago Heights, or Matteson

Remote: Options for those interested in supporting our consumers but are unable to be in-person

Internships: We offer a variety of non-paid internship opportunities where you will receive hands-on experience assisting individuals or learning administration.  Other independent study opportunities include marketing, graphic design, and photography/video production.

Community Engagement: The Community Engagement Team is different from traditional volunteering. It involves building friendships and helping people make connections in their community. Opportunities are endless and are designed around your skills, matching them with our consumers’ goals.
